Dear Customers,
In this update, we are introducing new saved data options in our TMS to help users create orders faster, more accurately, and with less repetitive manual entry.
Users can now prepare and reuse commonly used addresses, ferry routes, and temperature requirements directly from the Data Fields configurations.
- Saved Addresses
- Saved Ferries
- Saved Temperatures
These features are available for both Transport Orders and Forwarding Orders, helping users reduce manual typing and avoid repeated data entry during daily order creation.
What’s New?
1. Saved Addresses
Users can now create predefined addresses and use them when filling in task locations in an order.
A saved address can include:
- name
- location
- post code
- country
- coordinates
When adding or editing an order, users can choose addresses from Select from defined. If enabled, addresses from previous orders are still available under Select from history.
This makes it easier to use company-approved addresses and avoid mistakes caused by manually typing the same location many times.
2. Saved Ferries
We have added Saved Ferries for frequently used ferry connections.
A saved ferry includes both sides of the route:
- departure location
- departure post code, country, and coordinates
- arrival location
- arrival post code, country, and coordinates
When selecting a saved ferry in an order, the system automatically fills in both the departure and arrival ferry data. This helps keep ferry information consistent and reduces the risk of entering the wrong port or direction.
We have also added option: Create return ferry.
When this option is selected while saving a ferry, the system automatically creates a separate saved ferry in the opposite direction. For example, if a user adds:
- Świnoujście → Malmö
the system can also create:
- Malmö → Świnoujście
This is especially useful for companies that often use the same ferry route in both directions.
3. Saved Temperatures
Users can now define Saved Temperatures and quickly apply them when creating or editing an order.
This is helpful for recurring cargo temperature requirements, including:
- single temperature values
- temperature ranges
- bi-temp settings
Saved temperature presets help users fill cargo data faster and keep refrigerated transport requirements consistent across orders.
4. Show Addresses From History
We have also added a setting called Show addresses from history.
When enabled, users can still select task locations from previous orders. When disabled, only saved defined addresses will be available when filling in a task location.
This gives companies more control over whether users should rely on historical address data or only use officially saved addresses.
Key Benefits:
1. Faster Order Creation. Users can select predefined addresses, ferries, and temperatures instead of typing the same information manually.
2. Fewer Data Entry Mistakes. Saved data helps reduce spelling differences, missing post codes, wrong countries, incorrect coordinates, and other common manual entry issues.
3. More Consistent Order Data. Teams can work with standardized address, ferry, and temperature data across both transport and forwarding workflows.
4. Easier Ferry Handling. Saved ferries automatically fill both departure and arrival data, and the new Create return ferry option makes it simple to prepare routes in both directions.
5. Better Control Over Historical Addresses. Companies can decide whether users should be able to select locations from previous orders or only from saved defined addresses.
6. Improved Work With Temperature-Controlled Cargo. Saved temperature presets make refrigerated and bi-temp order entry faster and more reliable.
Why This Matters
Order creation is faster and more reliable when users can work with prepared, reusable data. With Saved Addresses, Saved Ferries, and Saved Temperatures, SmartCP helps transport and forwarding teams reduce repetitive work, improve data quality, and keep daily order entry more consistent.
This update is especially useful for companies that regularly use the same loading places, unloading places, ferry connections, ports, or temperature requirements.
